Welcome to Salvatore's
Salvatore’s Market & Oven was created to bring people together through great food,
warm hospitality, and a strong sense of community. Located in Bay Harbor,
Salvatore’s combines the feel of an Italian neighborhood market with a welcoming
dining experience centered around quality ingredients, handcrafted food, and
genuine service.
Founded by restaurateur Joe Guthrie, Salvatore’s is an extension of the hospitality
philosophy that has guided Vernales Restaurant and Vernales Events & Catering for years:
creating memorable experiences through exceptional food, personal connections,
and attention to detail.
Working alongside Executive Chef Kulin Froelich and the Vernales hospitality team,
Salvatore’s continues to evolve while staying rooted in its commitment to approachable
dining, elevated service, and community connection throughout Northern Michigan.
About Joe Guthrie
Joe Guthrie is the owner and visionary behind Vernales Restaurant,
Vernales Events & Catering, and Salvatore’s Market & Oven.
With years of experience in hospitality, food service, and event operations,
Joe has built a reputation for creating welcoming spaces centered around
exceptional food and authentic guest experiences.
Known for his hands-on leadership style and strong connection to the
Northern Michigan community, Joe has helped grow Vernales into a trusted
name for dining, weddings, private events, and catering throughout the region.
Through Salvatore’s, Joe wanted to create a concept that blends the comfort
of an Italian-inspired market and gathering place with the elevated quality
and service that define the Vernales brand.
